Hello there! I’m Deborah, a medical student. My academic journey immerses me deeply in the world of science, and believe me, that’s a lot of science. Yet, in my moments of leisure, I enjoy film, TV, classical music, books, photography, and of course, art.
My fascination with art began in primary school. Art lessons were a source of joy, and I enjoyed them very much as a kid. My art teacher taught us to paint several artworks using oil pastels on paper – Vincent Van Gogh’s The Starry Night (1889) and Cypresses (1889), Claude Monet’s The Water Lilies – Setting Sun (1920-1926), etc. These early works that I painted have since been lost to time; otherwise, I would have been proud to display them here.
After primary school, I pursued art intermittently, mainly in Aesthetics lessons in secondary school. The piece you see below is my very first woodwork creation. The Dark Knight (2008) is my favorite film of all time for many reasons, which I will elaborate on in my film review. In brief, Heath Ledger’s Joker played the most memorable Joker in all of film history and served as my inspiration for this piece. I endeavoured to do justice to his portrayal of the Joker with each aspect of its design and to capture the essence of his iconic performance in every detail.

In 2021, I was drawn to the medium of digital art. After experimenting with pencil and paper sketches for a while, I embraced digital art as my primary form of artistic expression. There is no limit to creativity. Since then, I have relished every stage of the artistic process, from conceptualization to completion.
In July 2023, I started aaarthorse on Instagram as a platform to share my art with a wider audience. Over a year later, I am thrilled to present this website with you, my esteemed audience to showcase my artistic journey and projects. Since the inception of aaarthorse, I have created over 50 pieces of art. I eagerly anticipate creating many more and sharing this creative process with you.
Another passion of mine is photography. I revel in the thrill of discovering the perfect frame, meticulously positioning my camera to capture captivating subjects. When these moments arise, I instinctively reach for my camera, eager to freeze the essence of life in a single shot. With a keen eye for detail, I strive to immortalize the fleeting beauty of everyday moments as they pass by.
In addition to my visual art endeavours, I have a passion for writing – including film and TV reviews, book reviews, and original screenplays.
Thank you for accompanying me on this artistic journey. Enjoy the art!
