Hello! I’m Deborah. I enjoy film, photography, cinematography, and of course, art.

My fascination with art began in primary school. Art lessons were a source of joy, and I enjoyed them very much. My art teacher taught us to paint several artworks using oil pastels on paper – Vincent Van Gogh’s The Starry Night (1889) and Cypresses (1889), Claude Monet’s The Water Lilies – Setting Sun (1920-1926), etc. These early works have since been lost to time.
In secondary school, I pursued art intermittently. It was during my Aesthetics lessons where I created my first woodwork piece inspired by The Dark Knight (2008). It is my favourite film for many reasons. Heath Ledger played the most memorable Joker in film history and served as my inspiration. I endeavoured to do justice to his portrayal of the Joker with each aspect of its design and to capture the essence of his iconic performance in every detail.

In 2021, I was drawn to the medium of digital art. After experimenting with pencil and paper sketches for a while, I embraced digital art as my primary form of artistic expression. Since then, I have relished every stage of the artistic process, from conceptualisation to completion.
In July 2023, I started aaarthorse on Instagram as a platform to share my art with a wider audience. “Why ‘aaarthorse‘?” The horse is a symbol of power, strength, and freedom.
Today, I am thrilled to present this website to you, my esteemed audience, to showcase my artistic pursuits. Since the inception of aaarthorse, I have created over 50 pieces of art. I eagerly anticipate creating many more and sharing this creative process with you.
“Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist can come from anywhere.” –Anton Ego, Ratatouille

As my debut, The Pulse Of Time (2022) embodies the essence of my art.
The heart symbolises vitality and life. Its intricacies and complexities harmonise in a rhythm essential for existence. In this piece, each section of the heart represents the diverse experiences of individuals across significant epochs in human history, interpreted through distinct artistic styles ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary era. Five pivotal art movements have influenced the depiction of the heart: Renaissance Art, inspired by the Italian painter Caravaggio; Impressionism, influenced by the French painter Claude Monet; Surrealism, shaped by the Spanish artist Salvador Dalí; Cubism, pioneered by the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso; and the Pop Art Movement, inspired by Andy Warhol.
Despite these differences, the shared human experience transcends time. Each person is frequently reminded of their finite existence, confronted by mortality in the face of disease and the passage of time. In this relentless battle, doctors stand amidst profound affliction, demonstrating compassion and offering invaluable support to patients. Renowned physician Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau aptly described the noble duty of a doctor: “To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.”
Thank you for accompanying me on this artistic journey. Enjoy!
“You say ‘amateur’ as if it was a dirty word. ‘Amateur’ comes from the Latin word ‘amare’, which means to love. To do things for the love of it.” –Rodrigo, Mozart in the Jungle
